Description
This is a very finely executed portrait miniature on ivory by Australian artist, Ada Whiting.
It is painted on ivory and is in its original frame, nicely gilded metal with leaf decoration all the way around.
I have taken the miniature out to show the backing which is hand written with the following inscription. "Painted by Ada Whiting. 230 Collins Street Melbourne. 1918."
The sitter is unknown but perhaps with some research could be identified.
The miniature is monogrammed with the co-joined intitials AW for Whiting.
An absolutely stunning miniature in excellent original condition with no damage.
